Word has gotten around in the sleepy little village of Trappe, that the Borough has decided nearly everyone on Main Street must repair their sidewalks AND curbs within a 30 day time constraint. A letter, dated Oct 18th, was sent out by the Borough Manager on behalf of the thoughtful Council stating things about new ordinances.
The thing about the curbs on Main Street / Ridge Pike that the Council and others seem to have forgotten is, that Ridge Pike is a state road. Any work needing to be done on the curbs will require the permission of PennDOT to start work, and will most certainly block up traffic quite a bit. And how many people will need to do repairs along Main Street? Blocking up traffic how many times? And in 30 days?
Let's see how well the Borough sticks up to their end of the bargain, as their sidewalks are marked as well. The general public doesnt have the benefit of asking the Joint Public Works to do their work for them. But we'll see if they can make the deadline. The clock is ticking down towards Saturday November 17th (which would be 30 days from the dated letter).
More on this to come...
